Can you get a virus on a iphone by just opening a email?

I recieved an email from prizerebel and i opened it, it all looked fine but then i began to think that i cud of got a virus on my iphone. Is this possible? i didnt open ANY attachments just opened the email and closed it.

yes, and did you know you can be monitored and being listed to while your phone is off cell or house phone =O you never know
