When I sign onto yahoo email I get a chat box. How do I keep from deleting it?

Yahoo added some kind of chat feature and twice now a message was waiting for me when I signed on. Assuming it was just a pop-up I closed them both and noticed only when it was too late. Are these typically spam or could they have been something worthwhile? Is there anyway to automatically save them or have them converted to email?

I am in the same boat - I looked everywhere for this answer so I hope someone will find this question and provide an answer. My issue is the chat box appears and says you have a message from XXXXX and gives you the option to view message or block sender - I tend to want to view the message, and it is generally spam - I can't figure out how to go back to block that person. The only apparent option is to close the box which doesn't block the spammer.
